Training and Development:
Fresh Start provides a range of training for Students, Staff Members and External Agencies. We have positive links with a number of colleges throughout the country, and provide Student Work Placements, where possible, throughout the year in our Residential Centres. Our experienced Staff are happy to supervise these placements and have, in the past, assisted many Students through to qualification and employment with us.
All newly qualified Staff commencing work with us will undergo a comprehensive Induction programme. This programme has been highly praised by Staff and the Regulator for Children’s Residential Services since its commencement, and assists new staff members in learning and developing with the help of dedicated and experienced Mentors.
We provide training to all staff on:
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
- Manual Handling
- First Aid
- Fire Safety
- Child Protection
We also provide team building and more specific training on challenging behaviour when requested or required in-house.
We are happy to discuss any training needs to see if we can assist or advise on appropriate alternative services.

Our experienced team of Clinicians and Specialist Care Staff can provide individualised and unique training across a range of topics to enhance quality of care provision and further the knowledge of our Management Team and Social Care Workers.
